Jesus Enrique Duprey was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico. Early in his life, he wanted to be an Olympic Gymnast, but after 7 years of training, the cost and time commitment became unsustainable. During his time studying at a university in Puerto Rico, he got involved in theater as a way to earn some extra credit. While backstage he enjoyed watching the media interviews with the most popular actors and through this experience he developed his interest in photography and video production. As a result of this newfound passion, he began studying visual communications at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.
After realizing that he would have more opportunities in video production in the United States, he decided to move to Rochester, NY in August of 2001. This began a period of great struggle, as he had to learn a new place, learn English and qualify for admission to college to continue towards his goals. After four years, he finally qualified to begin college, but it was very challenging to work a full-time job and take classes as a full-time student.
Despite having to overcome many challenges, he graduated from Monroe Community College in 2012 and began freelancing for local video producers and audio/visual companies around NYS and producing videos on his own.
Through these experiences, he became knowledgeable in all aspects of video production. In March of 2020, he was hired by CMI Audio Visual Company as an Audiovisual Technician working mainly in the video department.
At Regret-Free Productions, Jesus’ considerable talents are focused on his role as a cinematographer and camera operator. His incredible eye for shot composition, lighting, and visual storytelling make him an invaluable member of our team!
